How a Content Provider Can Be Beneficial to Small and Mid Market Radio!

Casey Kasem said "Basically, radio has not changed over the years." This was true up until as recently as a decade ago. Since then we have seen a DRASTIC change in the way radio does business. When all there was to offer was an analog radio signal, all was good. Customers came to you. Now you need to go to them with a product that they want or they can just move on to the next choice! We have seen the advent of the internet, smart phones, streaming and all the other ways that we get our content. Small market radio must now adapt to the demands put on them by the consumer, and if they do not, they can just turn off the transmitter now!

The thing is radio is in a unique position to harness this trend towards new media. If companies look for creative solutions (and trust me they are out there), they will find that the end product with improve radio as a whole.

The bottom line is that content providers can help your station in a variety of ways.

  1. Gives Your Station a Bigger Sound! – With a provider that can produce audio you can accomplish getting a variety of voices and personalities without the cost of having to all of those voices on staff.
  2. Better Cater to Your Clients and Demo – With access to a production library and a range of vocal talents, content providers can cater any element with pinpoint accuracy to your event, station, or demographic.
  3. Sound Local Without the Cost – Although I am not saying you should get rid of live content completely, I do understand the need to make some air shifts at some stations redundant. Content providers can provide a station with a "butt in the seat" during those shifts.
  4. Save Time – With a content provider you can take some of the daily task off of your essential staff's to-do list. This frees them up for more important work, promos, remotes, community involvement. Let your staff worry about being local and let a content provider worry about the daily content.

Some providers also can handle all of your station's new media needs as well. From complete website design to graphics for promotions and even print graphics, you can make the management of your online presence stress free, dynamic and accessible to your audience.

When looking for a content provider here are some things to consider.

  • Be sure they know what they are talking about. Find someone who has been in the industry and who has deal with similar problems to the ones you are facing at your station
  • Find a company who has the skills to accomplish the goals YOU need to have accomplished. This is about making YOUR station better, not their company! If the company is not willing to adapt to YOUR needs then just move on.
  • Ask to see examples of their work. Fact is, you are hiring this company to work for you. You need to make sure that their vision is going to meet your expectations.
  • Look for the fine print. Make sure that you are not going to run into any incidental charges and, if so, how much and for what!
  • Versatility – why go to a content provider that can only handle one side of your content needs. Companies are out there that can do it all.
  • MOST IMPORTANTLY – Communicate with them. Look for someone who is passionate about what they do. This will effectively provide your station with a better end product and ensure a good relationship.

I know some of this sounds like common sense but it needs to be said. Bottom line is that content providers are an effective and budget friendly way to improve your station's sound and online presence.

Turn Your Digital Merchandise Into Physical Goods

If you plan to speak at business events, you'll need to offer a physical model of your info-product for sale. Even if you simply attend conferences and meet-ups, sharing a copy of your novel or a well-done CD will really get people's interest.

All that else, keep in mind that individuals get into the info-product online businesses mainly because it's easy. While you still have customer assistance & service to manage, there's no cost incurred in replacing digital products due to "lost shipment" (ie, lost download link) and the general hazard is much lower.

Even if you apply POD – or Print on Demand – services, lowering your upfront investment, you have the additional task of dealing with shipping problems as well as damaged goods and so on. These things absolutely have an effect on your name – not the corporation that designs your product or fulfills your purchases. I do think we've all seen several cases of this in the IM industry over the last couple of years.

If you're already selling e-books or other downloadable information products, then you already know just how financially rewarding it can be to turn your words right into cash. Surely, selling e-books is just one path to $ 10,000 per month. Here's another:

Start selling your digital products as physical products and pocket a hefty profit!

There are some excellent reasons why you should do this:

a) Physical products carry a higher perceived value. When someone can hold a product in his or her hands, it is often considered having much more value as compared with a digital product. Quite simply, the very same paper novel is valued more than the digital version sitting on their hard disk drive.

You gain from this perception because it generally allows you to charge more for the merchandise.

Example: A small eBook bundle which you charge for $ 100 could easily become a $ 500 home study course. The actual printing cost ends up being just a couple dollars per book and you get to pocket the rest as pure profit!

b) Physical products incur fewer refunds. When individuals have to essentially work to have their refund, you are going to find a lower number of people casually requesting refunds in contrast to the serial refunders you have likely came across when selling ebooks. That's exactly why print items incur fewer refunds, since buyers have to ship the merchandise back to you. Outcome: You're able to keep more of your revenue!

c) Physical products are at times viewed as more respectable, which elevates your reputation in your niche. Lastly, offering an actual merchandize very quickly positions you as an expert in your niche, which builds trusts as well as spurs sales. It does not even matter if you are self publishing a book some individuals have an inclination to view writers of print books as more reliable than eBook writers.

By now it bought to be fairly clear why you should transform your digital items right into physical goods. Your next question is, how?

Fortunately, lots of print on demand (POD) publishers as well as fulfillment businesses have sprung up to make it easy for you to sell actual products. Visit Lulu.com, CafePress.com and Disk.com for your printing as well as fulfillment needs.

The Differences Between SodaStream Models

Many people want to get a SodaStream but have no idea which model is best for them. It can be difficult to choose, especially when the SodaStream company has no information highlighting the differences between the models. Here is a brief overview explaining which features are unique to the models.

There are currently eight SodaStream models available. They are The Revolution, The Source, The Fizz, The Crystal, The Pure, The Fountain Jet, The Dynamo and The Genesis. First, let’s address the similarities of all eight types. All of the eight models can make soda or sparkling water in the convenience of your home. All come with “stay fizzy” bottle closures that keep the carbonation in longer. All are compatible with the standard 14.5 ounce carbonation cylinder which is capable of carbonating up to sixty liters of soda or sparkling water.

There are four models which are capable of using either the 14.5 ounce carbonation cylinder or the larger 33 ounce cylinder, which is capable of carbonating up to 130 liters of soda or sparkling water. Those four models are The Revolution, The Dynamo, The Fountain Jet and The Fizz.

All eight models use the CO2 tank as a power source to carbonate. The Crystal, The Pure, The Dynamo, The Fountain Jet and The Genesis require no additional power source to operate. The Fizz and The Source do require a battery to operate the display components. That battery is included. The Revolution is the only model which requires electricity to work. Keep this in mind, as it will need to be near an outlet when used.

The Crystal comes with a dishwasher safe glass carafe. The other seven models come with BPA-free plastic bottles that are not dishwasher safe. You can buy dishwasher safe bottles separately that are compatible with those seven models, but you can not use the glass carafe with any model other than the Crystal.

The Dynamo, The Fountain Jet, The Pure, The Fizz and The Genesis all require the user to twist the bottle into place. The Crystal, The Revolution and The Source all lock the bottle into place without twisting, making them a little easier to use.

There is only one fully automated SodaStream available at this time. That is The Revolution. You simply press a button to tell it how carbonated you would like your drink and it does the rest for you. It also measures the CO2 levels to let you know how much is left in your carbonation cylinder. The Fizz is not automated but it does monitor and display the amount of carbonation in your drink as well as the level of CO2 in your cylinder. The Source has three LED lights to let you know how much carbonation is in your drink, but does not monitor the CO2 left in your cylinder.

I hope I have shed some light on what makes each SodaStream model unique. Click HERE for more information on SodaStreams and to see how the different models look. Remember, this will probably sit on your counter at all times, so you’ll want something that looks good in your kitchen.

★★★★☆ Solar Charger Power Bank Review – FLOUREON 10000mAh Solar Battery Charger – Amazon

UPDATE: When not in direct sunlight, it can take forever to charge. Be patient if you buy this. 19 bucks last I checked on Amazon: https://amzn.to/2mFFJS4

✏️ Quick thoughts to supplement my video demonstration.

Exact product I’m reviewing here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FH084UK/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B01FH084UK&linkCode=as2&tag=beaureviawes-20&linkId=BCPYFXFJ2CUK5OZF

I use this for survival type situations (e.g. bug out bag) where you’d like to charge a cell phone, but there may be no electricity. I also use this for long work days while commuting around downtown Seattle. Even charges when it’s cloudy!

📍 Bottom line: would I recommend this product to one of my friends?
👍 Yes, but be patient when it’s charging from the sun.

A Review of the 2nd Generation CamBall

The CamBall is self contained video surveillance system that is the size of a golf ball, yet records clear 320 x 240 video at 30 frames per second with audio, or large 640 x 480 color photos, to micro SD cards.

Manufactured by the Korean company Starnex, the latest version of the CamBall features improved motion detection, accepts a maximum 16GB of memory, and includes many accessories that were previously sold separately.

If you love gadgets, the CamBall has everything you could ever want in a spy camera, and there are two versions, depending on your needs. The big difference is the SC-30 does not have motion activation, and the SC-31 does.

If you want to record action sports, parties, weddings, meetings, or your cat, you might not want the motion activation. If you are trying to catch someone stealing, or scratching the paint on your car, you want the motion activation.

The motion activation has been vastly improved over the prior model, specifically they are using a better chip, so it’s not just a software upgrade. Previously, the camera was so sensitive that clouds moving in front of the sun would set off the motion.

The 16GB memory increase allows you to record up to 48 hours of video. The internal batteries last about 100 minutes, hours with light motion, and with the optional Surveillance Pack, you can run the camera from the electricity of the building.

The CamBall is very easy to use. Charge it up for 3 hours, and turn it on by pressing the big button for 2 seconds. The lights turn on and blink 3x. Once it’s done, you can either push the large center button to take photos, or press the record button (Up arrow) for 2 seconds, and it will record until you turn it off or the battery dies.

The photos are large and very clear, as is the video. The video @ 30 frames per second is real time, and while its 320 x 240, its very clear with no dropped frames. Audio can be turned on or off, depending on your needs.

Setting up motion detection is a snap; you just have to hold down the “Left Arrow” button for 2 seconds until its Red, and then press record (Up Arrow) for 2 seconds. Set it down and it will start recording when motion is detected.

The free CamBall manager software allows you to change the settings, as well as automatically updates itself, and performs software & firmware updates on the device.

You can set the time/date, motion activation sensitivity, turn on/off the “Night Vision” capability, and if needed, flip the video 180 degrees if you have it mounted upside down.

While you can hook the camera up to a Mac to watch the video, the CamBall manager software only works on a PC, or you can hook the camera up to a TV, and you can change the settings there.

To view the videos, you can plug the CamBall into your Mac or PC, and find the video files. KM Player works great on a PC, and on a Mac, the movies play just fine in QuickTime. Removing the micro SD card and using a reader will also allow you to view the videos.

Starnex also released 4 different accessory packs, depending on your needs. There is the Surveillance Pack mentioned above, there is a Sports Pack that has a handle bar and clip mount that can be interchanged with a weatherproof housing, or a standard holder.

The Vehicle Pack allows you to operate the camera in your vehicle, running off the lighter, and viewing the video on a GPS navigator. The LCD Pack allows you to watch your videos on a color 2.5″ LCD screen.
