So i am using their ideas of what they have done but doing it on a budget, My total build comes in at less than £500 but i already had the bike frame. hopefully when i have finished making all the videos on how i have built it, You will be riding something similar

How Can You Build A Basic Bicycle Generator

A basic bicycle generator can be a really simple and fun project for newcomers and amateurs to the world of electronics and inventions. In this article, we will describe two different types of generators. The first one is for a pedal bike. It can be mounted onto the bike wherever you go. The other is for a stationary bike. With this one, you can easily charge a battery or power a small TV.

Acquire a Motor – The first step is to acquire a DC motor for bicycle generator. This can be acquired from an old computer or printer. Motors are present in almost every electronic item. You can even go online and buy a new motor at an affordable price. Once you have acquired or bought a motor, you need to take off o-rings and plastic gears.

Mount the Motor – The next step is to mount the motor onto the back tire of the bicycle. This will allow the tire to turn the shaft of the motor. You will also need to put a sort of disc to the arm of this motor. This will allow it to touch the tire. It is always better to use big rubber discs as they provide good friction. The turning will cause voltage to easily come across the leads on this motor.

Basic Procedure for A Stationary Bicycle – First, let us talk about a stationary bicycle. If you are trying to build a stationary bicycle generator, you will have to build a stand too. This will make sure that your back tire is elevated. You should use a multimeter or voltmeter to measure the voltage your motor is producing when you are pedaling. Usually, this will be enough to power a small TV or charge a 12 volt battery.

The next step is to attach a voltage regulator to the leads of the motor, reaching whatever equipment you want to charge or run. If you don’t use a regulator, batteries can explode. For those of you who don’t know, voltage regulators are small chips. They can be easily soldered onto a circuit. It is quite simple and easy to acquire a schematic for every voltage regulator. You can get them at an electronics store or online.

Once you have used a voltage regulator with motor for bicycle generator, you can feel free to run any compatible appliance. You can get around 100 to 200 watts of power. However, you need to use the right kind of motor.

Basic Procedure for A Moving Bicycle – On the other hand, if you are trying to build a generator on a moving bicycle, you just have to mount the battery holder near the back tire. It will be better if you mount it just above the tire. This way, you will not have to use long connecting wires. You also need to make sure that the wires are tight and don’t get caught up in the tire. The rest of the steps are the same as a stationary bicycle generator.

Types of Bicycle Lights

There are many different bicycle lights to choose from, and it can be difficult to choose the best one for your needs. Things to consider include the type of light bulb, the power source, and where you want to mount the light to your bicycle.

Bicycle head lights are those mounted to the front of your bicycle that are white and help you to see ahead of you and helps others (drivers and pedestrians) see you. Depending on your riding conditions, you may settle for a cheap headlight system that is more to help others to see you to prevent accidents, or you might need a bright light to help you find your way on a dark bicycle path.

Depending on the length of time and frequency of your nighttime riding, you may decide on an alkaline battery powered light, or one that you can charge while at work before your evening bicycle commute home. The type of light bulb (LED, and halogen are two common types) can affect how long the battery lasts, and also the price of the system.

Rear bicycle lights are always red and are strictly to help others behind you to see you. These lights can be set to blink mode or steady. Blink mode is essential to your safety especially while riding on a road at night. The blinking will help draw attention to you while a steady light might else be overlooked. These lights most commonly use LED bulbs. Some rear bicycle lights can be seen a great distance, while others might not be bright enough to be seen quickly by drivers in conditions where there are many other lights around.

Different types of bicycle lights also have different power sources. The simplest and most basic are standard non-rechargeable alkaline batteries. These batteries are cheap, but they are wasteful. However, they tend to last a very long time. Many bicycle lights these days are using lithium-ion batteries. These small compact batteries hold a long charge and can be recharged hundreds of times. Many lithium-ion powered lights can even be charged from the USB ports on your computer giving you a quick and easy way to charge your lights without having to use a dedicated charging adapter.

While headlights are typically mounted to your bike's handlebars, many lights can also be fitted to your helmet. By having the light on your helmet, it enables you to direct the light to exactly where you need it. This can be helpful in intersections since it allows you to direct the light right at a driver to help them notice you. Rear lights are typically mounted to your seat post, but many can also be mounted to your clothing or a backpack.

Although there are many different types of bicycle lights to choose from, it is essential that you have lights on when you ride in low light conditions or at night. Your safety depends on it!

Can an Electric Bicycle Replace Your Car?

When Ford introduced his innovative idea of ​​creating a four wheel car running on a motor and mass producing it so that he could sell it to the world, many people were skeptical about this idea and thought that he was not going to be successful selling those moving boxes. One of their arguments were that cars would be too expensive than people could afford but they were all wrong as Ford Model T car was sold to more than 15 million people worldwide. I think the electric bicycle industry is facing the same opposition as Ford did.

In China, there are more than 80 million bikes on the streets as people prefer to ride a bike instead of driving a car mainly because of bicycle's economic and environmental advantages. China is the second largest economy in the world and if all those people from their country can adopt electric bikes as their daily form of transportation then we also in the US can follow this same route.

Most of us do not work more than 20 miles away from our house and most electric bike battery life per charge excludes 20 miles and can go on average 15 miles an hour as in the case of the EZIP Via Lento electric bike which also has a 450W motor.

We, Americans overuse our cars. Going to our friend's house down the streets does require driving a car, this is wasteful consumption of fuel. Riding our bike is more fuel efficient and more relaxing while enjoying the outdoor. So from my point of view, I think electric bicycle can replace many people's car since it has already replace mine.
