How to Build an Electric Bike

Today, most of us own a bike. They are fun to ride and faster than going for a walk. Bikes do not pollute the environment and are effective for moving from one place to another. Kids enjoy riding them and it is very entertaining to teach youngsters how to ride a bike. Bikes are highly beneficial and exist in mobile and non-mobile versions to help exercise and keep in shape. Employers are adding showers in their buildings so that commuters can go to work by bike and then take a shower to get ready for work, save gas and help reduce traffic pollution.

Riding a bike contributes to a whole range of benefits from better health to lower cost. However, it is understood that riding a bike to work or for shopping takes more time than driving a car. Bike fans have found a solution! The solution is an electric bike. They are more expensive to buy and commercial ones do not have very much power according to some bike fans. What if you could build your own? There are many online sites and information on how to build an electric bike.

An electric bike is still beneficial as you still have to pedal but it is not noisy, does not use gas or oil and does not need a lot of maintenance. The electric bike can be used on short trips when driving a car does not make a lot of sense or on long trips for recreation. Riding an electric bike is an amazing mode of transportation, particularly in large cities with limited and expensive parking spaces and traffic congestion.

Research some of the interesting web sites to learn how to build an electric bike. It is not easy task and is very time consuming but if people are handy, find the right parts and tools, they can complete the task successfully. Most of all, you need a regular bike to convert it to electric. You need some major parts first: a motor, a motor controller, batteries, a throttle and a chain for linking the motor to the wheel or pedals. Other parts are needed for the task: metal plate to attach the motor to the bike, a master link, a rear rack for the batteries, a single and a multi-speed chain and connectors and clamps. The compatibility of the parts is important. Individuals should select a web site that provides instructions and pictures. The idea is to put together the motor with the controller and the batteries, test it to see if it works and then attach to the bike.

An electric bike allows for healthier living and more time outside in the environment. It is recreational and there is no air pollution. It may not be easy for everyone to build an electric bike. However, if you search online, you will be able to find many instructions and pictures on how to build an electric bike.

PORSCHE JAPAN SELECTS ABB TO BUILD CHADEMO INFRASTRUCTURE FOR TAYCAN

Sending out a futuristic A2 vibe, the new showcar carrying the Four Rings takes the shape of a compact zero-emissions hatchback developed primarily for city use.” reports Adrian Padeanu for Motor1.com: “Audi believes an equivalent production version would mostly travel at speeds between 20 and 70 kph (12 to 43 mph) over short distances. This video is one segment of an instructional video I created in 2010 from a home-built electric car I made in 2008. Of course, battery and motor technology has advanced quickly since then, and affordable, commercially-built, Electric Vehicles are now a reality.

This video series covers ONE low-tech and simple way of converting a car to electric. Many of these same ideas and techniques still apply to go-karts, motorcycles, boats, and lots of other projects. We hope that you enjoy watching these videos and learn a little something from them.

There are still a few copies of the original DVD for sale. Besides the video, the set also has a DVD-ROM with photos, web clips, and documents from the project.

Build a SOLAR PANEL WINDOW AWNING Battery Charging System



Build a lightweight portable solar panel stand for a flexible solar panel that can be easily mounted to your RV window. I installed an external plug and I connect multiple flexible solar panels to an small MPPT charge controller with bluetooth monitoring. This setup is great to add more solar to your RV or use it as your primary solar charging system.

How Can You Build A Basic Bicycle Generator

A basic bicycle generator can be a really simple and fun project for newcomers and amateurs to the world of electronics and inventions. In this article, we will describe two different types of generators. The first one is for a pedal bike. It can be mounted onto the bike wherever you go. The other is for a stationary bike. With this one, you can easily charge a battery or power a small TV.

Acquire a Motor – The first step is to acquire a DC motor for bicycle generator. This can be acquired from an old computer or printer. Motors are present in almost every electronic item. You can even go online and buy a new motor at an affordable price. Once you have acquired or bought a motor, you need to take off o-rings and plastic gears.

Mount the Motor – The next step is to mount the motor onto the back tire of the bicycle. This will allow the tire to turn the shaft of the motor. You will also need to put a sort of disc to the arm of this motor. This will allow it to touch the tire. It is always better to use big rubber discs as they provide good friction. The turning will cause voltage to easily come across the leads on this motor.

Basic Procedure for A Stationary Bicycle – First, let us talk about a stationary bicycle. If you are trying to build a stationary bicycle generator, you will have to build a stand too. This will make sure that your back tire is elevated. You should use a multimeter or voltmeter to measure the voltage your motor is producing when you are pedaling. Usually, this will be enough to power a small TV or charge a 12 volt battery.

The next step is to attach a voltage regulator to the leads of the motor, reaching whatever equipment you want to charge or run. If you don’t use a regulator, batteries can explode. For those of you who don’t know, voltage regulators are small chips. They can be easily soldered onto a circuit. It is quite simple and easy to acquire a schematic for every voltage regulator. You can get them at an electronics store or online.

Once you have used a voltage regulator with motor for bicycle generator, you can feel free to run any compatible appliance. You can get around 100 to 200 watts of power. However, you need to use the right kind of motor.

Basic Procedure for A Moving Bicycle – On the other hand, if you are trying to build a generator on a moving bicycle, you just have to mount the battery holder near the back tire. It will be better if you mount it just above the tire. This way, you will not have to use long connecting wires. You also need to make sure that the wires are tight and don’t get caught up in the tire. The rest of the steps are the same as a stationary bicycle generator.
