The Portable Solar Power System is 7 years-old now and has grown and changed over that time. My system is not designed to power my home on an ongoing basis but to be there at a moments notice should we lose the power grid. My Solar Array is not mounted outside; it is mounted on cart wheels and rolled into my basement most of the time. Until now, most of my battery charging was with my Black & Decker Smart Battery Charger hooked manually to the battery bank twice per week.
When I demoed my Travel Trailer as while back, I was able to salvage my Progressive Dynamics model PD9140 40 AMP 600 Watt battery charger. This unit as installed in the trailer provided a 13.6 Volt constant charge to the trailer’s batteries. I recently purchased an add-on device called The Charge Wizard which turns this unit into a smart battery charger.
The Charge Wizard provides 4 modes of operation allowing the charger to remain running and charging continually based on the batteries current state of charge. The modes are:
* Normal Mode – 13.6 Volts
* Boost Charge – 14.4 Volts
* Storage Mode – 13.2 Volts
* Equalization Mode – 14.4 for 15 minutes every 21 hours.
I will be watching this like a Hawk for a period of time to ensure that I do Nothing to compromise my battery bank.

Lead–acid Battery desulfation with capacitors no Epsom salt required. Cheap capacitive battery charger using a rectifier and capacitor, which is much more efficient for charging your worn out sulfated batteries. Also great for use as a forklift battery charger at a much much lower cost then purchasing a factory built one for $3,000+
